Of newer times....

Welcome to my new blog..Alive. My attempt to make me feel special about all that I do to feel just alive and wow in the moment. My earlier blog Wanderlust is wonderful in its naiveness and my signature identity. Here its more about what has been done and documented. No analysis..(Thank God)

So, I gave up my so-far-stable job being a Cyber Security Analyst just yesterday. It seemed like an effort stretched too far. I am happy to be just being. This break seems so much needed now, till yesterday it wasn't. I was just gonna hope onto something exhilarating and energyful.

With this introduction, let me invite you to my first brunch item that send my praana in the body to complete alive status. I had got broccoli coz I am just too fond of this vegetable and I had no idea how to cook it, or any recipes for that matter. My hunger to have a more satisfying breakfast this day made me think of doing what I have done the best for cooking. Gather it all and let ur instincts play.I got a capsicum(green bell paper) along and also onion by the familiarity, but I ruled out onion at the last minute.

So look at the preparation part of it. Yes, I am a little organized.

My tadka has always been in majority of garlic and grated ginger in some necessary oil. This smell is one of the most powerful aroma therapies. Once it had me in frenzy of a kicked up hunger... I added some black pepper powder to the seasoning. Then I poured the greens-chunks of broccoli and finely cut capsicum and allowed it to get cooked with some water added. After they were cooked enough, I added little bit of salt.

Well instinctively here on my idea was to add eggs to this vegetable mix and make it into a heavy duty green scrambled egg preparation, but somehow I did not want to disturb the green vegetable mix in front of me with that inviting garlic smell. It was too good to be getting drowned in the eggs.

So I cooled down the burner and had it with one Chapati. It was heaven. I could feel the mix starting to freshen up my body and perking up my metabolism.

Now for some fine suggestions- This fresh steamed preparation of Broccoli with capsicum in garlic pepper sauce would taste best with steamed rice.

And now for the end of this,

I would like to name my dish "Broccoli Morning Wonder" for giving a wonderful appetite fill and a nice way to start my independent, easy day..n thus furthering the idea to make a new blog and start writing. Also thanks to reading Oscar Wilde's quote in the morning - Be Yourself, everyone else is taken.

:)

Bon Jour!

  1. Good pics, girl. Photographs so enhance a food post that they're a must for any food-blogger worth their salt (pun unintended). Just one suggestion - chors abound online. I usually watermark my photographs with my URL or email address or name and close to the center of the picture. That should discourage would-be thieves and also if someone does put it up, it credits back to you.

What was done the day after the first post.. :)

Yea.... the pictures say it all.. I had made the traditional Maharashtrian potato vegetable. Batatychi bhaji with some shallow fried king fish..which was my first time ever at touching raw fish and actually cooking it. Before the luncheon, a little appetiser came in the form of corn with some sweet lime. I cooked in the steam cooker, which keeps the original taste, flavour n nutrients intact in the food. One of those best days.. Stay put. :)

Batatychi Bhaaji!

Have a look at the home made Batatyachi Bhaaji.. All tasty, yummy and carby.. My favourite of mine!
